First 3 days of ideation 2-4/11

What is our why/purpose? Who are we targeting and what emotions do we want to evoke? Show that femininity is within all of us and make people embrace that. How can someone in all rounds experience it, visual, audio(voice), text

On monday the focus was on debriefing and opening up the ideation scope. We used different ideations methods like:

  • Reverse Brainstorming Template

  • Mind mapping

  • Idea & concept development

These ideation methods helped us define what words we associate with power and what things we linked to those “power words”.

We realized quite quickly that the topic that came back to us over and over again was about

  • Power in the self

  • Power in feminity

Being a group of 6 women, we decided that that was what we wanted to focus on.

PUROPOSE + INTENTION

  • femininity is not limited to those who identify as female or are perceived as women.

  • it is not contracted to the gender role society imposed upon you at birth

  • femininity is not weaker, lesser than or separate from masculinity. they are one in the same, part of the same whole.

  • we are living in a masculine world; demanding all humans to be faster, stronger, harder, bigger, better, longer.. while neglecting our intuitive needs of slowness, surrender, softness, and acceptance. Rather than looking outward, we must turn inward.

  • we are each and all, equally and collectively feminine and masculine beings. it is not either/or, this/that, right/wrong, good/bad, best/worst, all/nothing.

  • superpower, supernatural

  • WHAT IS FEMININITY + WHO IS FEMININE?

  • it's a blend + a balance of feminine + masculine qualities.

We set a purpose and then started ideation on the how. Through a lot of opening and closing the scope and not really finding the right ideas, if finally clicked the day of the prototype workshop with ... Even though our prototype was not ideal, it evolved into something we as a group felt clicked with us and our goal. We asked eachother “what does femininity mean to you?” and through our stories and interpretations we saw something beautiful that we could work with.
